Cast.

I can not stop thinking about Catching Fire (#2 in Hunger Games)!  I simply don't want to wait another year to see who they cast!  I decided to cast the movie myself (or at least offer some options)! If you don't know what I'm talking about...READ. THE. BOOKS.  I will buy them for you! haha. No, I won't...but if you have a Kindle I will let you borrow them!

Finnick Odair
Tall, bronze-skinned, green-eyed, trident-toting drink of water from District 4. Finnick is older than Katniss and Peeta, so should be played by a slightly older actor. Finnick is known for his INCREDIBLE good looks... Taking this into mind...


First Pick:
CHRIS HEMSWORTH (AKA THOR) and (brother to GALE actor Liam Hemsworth)
He has that beachy-look indicative of his native Australia.... perfect for the sea-loving Finnick!

1st Runner-up:
Garrett Hedlund (Achilles' young cousin in Troy--- resemblance to a young Brad Pitt)
He even has Finnick's "bronze hair" and impecable physique.  Good choice!

2nd Runner Up:
Alex Pettyfer- from "I Am Number Four"

Plutarch Heavensbee
Head Gamemaker for the Quarter Quell and secret uprising sympathiser; no real description in the book but in my mind he is an older, stout man that can be scary at times.

First Pick:
Brendan Gleeson who has been in a MILLION movies including HP (Mad-Eye Mooody), Troy, Gangs of New York, The Village, and Braveheart.

80-year-old tribute from District 4, and Finnick's close friend.  She is well-acquainted with water and fishing.

My Pick:
Rosemary Harris aka "Aunt May" in the Spiderman Movies. She's older, but still beautiful and talented.  

Johanna Mason
The axe-wielding lumberjack-like victor from District 7 with brown eyes and dark, short hair.  She also has a huge chip on her shoulder.  She is older than Katniss & Peeta, but not by much... which makes her probably in her 20's.

Jaimie Alexander- lady warrior of Thor

Gemma Arterton- The exotic beauty of Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans fame

Beetee or "Volts"
The brainiac, middle-aged victor who outsmarted his opponents to win his Hunger Games is described as small with pale skin and dark hair who wears glasses that don't seem to fit.
I don't know what to do with him. Sometimes I think he's a short, round older man who is extremely dorky... like a Hobbit scientist? haha.  Then I think they should go a little younger. I'll give some diverse options.

If they go younger...
Zachary Quinto- He played Spock in the new Star Trek.  If you aren't a Trekkie, then you might know him from the tv series Heroes.

If they go a little older...

Michael Emerson- of Lost  and Person of Interest  fame.  With a little styling (and some black hair dye), I think he is just dorky enough.  

Wiress or "Nuts"
Basically, she is the female version of Volts... just a little crazier.  Dark hair, pale skin, small and thin...


Lara Flynn Boyle- pale, dark-haired, and looks like she's been in the arena for few weeks (EAT A BURGER, HONEY!).... Still, good pick for Nuts!

Helena Bonham Carter--- Pale, Black hair, and a little crazy... Tick Tock Tick Tock...

President Alma Coin (District 13)
President Coin, the strong and ambitious president of District 13, is the epitome of composure and power. She has straight gray hair to her shoulders and gray eyes and is in her 50's.  I, frankly, was scared of her in Mockingjay.  She's a beast. I imagined her as tall, slender and somewhat muscular, but definitely a strong woman.


Cate Blanchett-- With that slim figure and porcelain skin, she looks as though she has lived in an underground bunker on a strict, rationed diet.
